Our French / Industrial / On A Budget Living Room......

                    Well...it isn't fussy or fancy...and it may not wow you...but for us its perfect!

             Gone are the over stuffed  pieces that made this room look dark and dreary...

                        we sold each and every one of them..

                    
                 now we have  a living room that we can all enjoy....where nothing is too special or too precious ...

                   a room to sit and read in..or to curl up and watch a movie (yes there is a t.v. under my french chair picture)...

            after all it is a "living room" and it will be put to good use I can assure you!  John made the bench ...the table and the shelf....I think they are just what the room needed to give it that sort of rustic edge.  I am so glad you came  by to see it....now I am going to sit and flip through some decor magazines and books to get some Christmas ideas ...can you believe it is November already?!  xoxo

Kitchen Love.....

                             So far I have enjoyed winter.....spring & summer in my new kitchen...

                                    and now my favorite season fall......

                        so I treated myself to a pretty new runner...perfect on the island..

                       re-did a few new vignettes.....

                 
                      but of course the best is still to come....

                               I have my first Christmas in my  kitchen to look forward too........can't wait!!! Hope you have a wonderful week...talk soon..x0x0

Restored Inspiration...

                                    I thought it was years off.....

                                         a world away...

                                           the day I could re-do our living room...

                                   give the tired,dated old gal a facelift...

                                    but its now a reality...and I must start planning ....it won't be white..it won't be dainty and frilly....and girly is out of the question...but it will I hope be warm and inviting with an industrial french kind of feel to it...all within a VERY tight budget and when in a few weeks its all done....

                       and for the first time ever I post our living room I hope you'll come and see it!  x0x0

A Place To Gather......

                    Morning.....well its that time of year again.....

                 when meals are no longer served outside....

                   and the dining room becomes a gathering place once again.....

                     so it seemed like the perfect time to do some tweeking.....

Change of season.....

                                                 Does anything say fall better than a huge bouquet of hydrangeas.....

                                                   with shades of pink & green....

                                              they just add that little punch of colour....

                                              that is oh so hard to resist ! Where has September gone....

A Most Unexpected Find...

                                       Happy Sunday everyone.....what a lovely day it is....

                                      did not plan to post today but could not wait to show you what I found...

                                         this awesome little french crate....as soon as I saw it I knew it was coming home with me....funny thing is I found it in a local specialty food shop....and it was not expensive at all !!!! 

                                      I love how it looks on the island....with my vintage dish rack....oh one more thing...my tag sale was a big hit...had no idea what to expect but at the end of the day I had very few things left and had made more money than I thought possible...may become a yearly event !  Enjoy your day and thank you so much for making my blog part of it! x0x0 Chrissy

Vintage Pharmacy Lamp.....

                                      Good morning! Wanted to show you what I found at Christie's Antique Sale on Sat. what an amazing day it was!!!!!  O.k ready???  First thing I spotted was this old pharmacy lamp ....in working order..he wanted $50 for it but after a bit of "chat & blather" and I must confess eyebatting I got it for.........$35......WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE....I am off to a good start...

                                         then came the stack of envelopes for $10( each with letters in them)...then the old french clock...how cute is it!?!?!

                                          Next up my lovely enamel #12 sign....my heart was pounding a mile a minute when I saw it....no break on the price on this baby but I didn't plan on leaving without it..

                                           Oh and earlier in the week I made a trade at Antique Avenue for this beautiful old seltzer bottle,I have always wanted one of these and this one is stunning...

                      The only thing I got that is not in this vignette is an old wire tray.....still have to find a home for it....
