Rhapsody in white....

My love affair with white continues ....the flicker of a candle,the curvy lines of a french bowl & the texture of pine cones all add to the feeling of the changing season,think I will spend the day at home,maybe do some baking......so glad you came by!~Chrissy~

The best is yet to come...

A 92 year old Irish man(my husband knew) recently invited his family & all his friends to a dinner party at a well known hotel in Northern Ireland.....he met each of them at the door with a warm smile and open arms. Two days later,he was gone.... no one knew at the time that he was hosting his own wake......only the Irish! Have a Sunday worth remembering, Chrissy

Nordic French stlye.....part 2

The last bit of my rosemary and some fresh parsley gave me just the look I wanted for the other side of the counter....no shopping was involved in this vignette .......thats a first!!! ~Chrissy~

Shades of white.....

A fresh vignette......I like the soft shades of white against the dark wood of the mantle,have a spiced pumpkin candle burning and nine burly men coming for chili and a football game......think they will notice my vignette????? Happy Labour Day........Chrissy

By way of the Irish...

Good morning...hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! Thought I would show you some more of Johns work....a couple of years ago he did alot of work for a couple that wanted to add old world charm to their newer house....I think in total he made them over thirty pieces of furniture,all from antique lumber. We were thrilled of course when the house was featured in a local magazine!! Everything you see here (that is wood) John made,my favorite is the mantle....hope you enjoy it! All the best,Chrissy

The kindness of strangers....

While out for a drive on Sunday afternoon,we came across a tiny,run down antique shop....of all the treasures we found,it was these old photos that caught my eye...when I asked the man how much they were,he said" For you, not a red penny,you seem to be the rightful new owner" I of course thanked him,and told him how much I loved them. I thought about it on the way home,how nice it was for him to do that for a stranger, and how it doesn't take much to make someones day, he sure made mine!! Hope this finds everyone well, Chrissy
