A Fresh Start....

Some mornings I wake and wonder where I am....but in an instant I remember...
I am here..in my new home...where things are bright and happy as they should be...
the sun shines and the birds sing..and I look out on the old church that sits quietly next to me...and somehow I feel at peace.
My sweet Meg is back in Haiti and I miss her so...but its o.k because I know she too is happy..doing what she loves..
I am so grateful to all my friends..those near and far for the strength and compassion they have shown me in these past few months...
I have never been one to fear change...and I have embraced it with all I have..
My life will never be the same again...but that's ok...
because my new life is full.....full of love and kindness....humor and friendships .....and oh so many things to look forward to! I again thank you all from the bottom of my heart....it feels so good to be back! Much love, Chrissy

Oh Chrissy, I have thought about you so many times lately, wondering how you are and how things have been going. I'm so thankful to hear that your life is full and happy. That is what I wish for you. xo
Life isn't meant to stay the same...I hope the new changes bring you lots of good things.

I've followed along for awhile now, but never comment. I am a friend of Carole's from Maynard Greenhouse. She sent me over quite a while back.

I have been there in those mornings waking up and for a few seconds not remembering what my life is now..and then collapsing in sorrow, but I am writing today to say..I have been there, and the path is long and rough at times but eventually you veer off and find a new path to follow and you'll find you whistle and skip, and one morning you just wake up. That's all. You wake up...and the sun is shining and the world is slowly still spinning 'round.

Welcome back! Love the light and white slipcovered sofa. That's what I would like in my home, but have decided to wait until later (when no kids) live at home...or maybe I just might go ahead and take the plunge.

I've followed your blog for a while but am so behind on my blog reading. I just read your previous post and wanted to say I have been there. My husband and I split up almost 11 years ago, I went to live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my 3 boys. I slept on the living room sofa for almost 7 years so my little men could have the bedrooms. It was very hard in the beginning but, as time went by, it got easier and better! I have so many fond memories of those times and the little nest I built for my boys and myself:) I'm not remarried and life is so full and so good!

Your new home looks gorgeous and so cozy! Stay strong:)

Chrissy-you have done what I knew you would...created a space that is different, but has the same serene touch that you do so well. I am a person that fears change, although I have been through it many times. I tend to start thoughts with "what if..." and you are an inspiration to just go with the flow, even if it isn't the flow we expect. I am glad you are finding peace. S.

I'm so happy you let everyone know how you're doing. I've been there too. No life won't be the same but it will be good! With the light shining in and a church nearby you're in good hands. This looks like a lovely place to make a new start. As you know you'll have your ups and downs. With time the ups will out number the downs. For me home doesn't seem like home until I've cleaned it enough times that I know all the little cracks and bumps then it becomes my little nest. Peace.
