My Dearest......

An old apothecary bottle set the tone for a mantle re-do...
                                          a bit of candle light.....
a silver cross & an old dried hydrangea.......
and a tiny piece of an old love letter we found behind a wall during the kitchen reno......"My dear Helen" it reads.....and goes on to say how sorry the writer is.....
for what we will never know.....
I think spring is around the corner ......
theres just something in the air.....
can you feel it too?  Wishing you a lovely day......x0x0

Chrissy, now that is what I call a real treasure! The letter is wonderful, and so special to have found it during your remodel.
It's part of your home, and you certainly made it more special with your mantle makeover.

Good morning, Chrissy! :) Oh, darling I love that you are making your photos BIG on your blog now!! They look very nice big! Your old apoth. bottle is charming.. I need to find some of those! Oh yes, I felt that feeling all day yesterday as we are having our first mild weather with that promise of Spring warm sunshine.. as I type this I am hearing the first of the morning birds chirping outside - that is the first sign to me that Spring is not far off. We are having 56 degrees here on Thursday.. I feel like taking off the flannel sheets and putting pretty cotton ones on! :)) Lovely pictures!!!!!!

Oh Chrissy, I LOVE your interior and decorations soooo much !!! And Wow, I love your kicthen too!! You must be so happy :)) Congratulation with your brand new kitchen interior. For me the kitchen is one of the most important rooms in a home, and there are not any other room I spend as much time as just there. It must be a joy to cook and meet your friends there for a chat now huh?

Sorry my absence my friend, I've been sick and still am, unfortunately. So I spend a lot of time on the couch, a hefty cold followed by the flu, which does not seem to let go completely. But, I hope I get back my strength this week. Thanks for asking and care about me, it 's highly appreciated! You are a good friend.

Sending many healthy hugs to you :)

Aina

In our rental house, we found letters written from a man in the civil war to his wife... he worked with the horses and told her about each one, the personalities and how he loved them... I did not know what to do with them so I just put them back in the attic where they were found. When the house becomes empty again , I may go get them. I loved that you found that letter, so fitting for your way of decorating. I hope you are right and spring is around the corner... I am so ready for it.
