Late Summer Decor...

             We are not quite there I know....but still..change is in the air....

                      has it hit you..can you feel it??  Hydrangeas drying from the hot sun...edges turning brown..time to pick....

                 craving the smell of fresh baked "anything"....windows open...curtains blowing..

                   summer sales..fall sweaters in the stores... a new bag perhaps and a pair of funky boots...ahhhh... here's to the last few weeks of summer...enjoy!!!  All the best my lovely friends..all the best! x0x0

An Old French Frame....

                             Ever find something that just speaks to you....

                          something that no matter how hard you try you just can't walk away from....

                           this old French frame with its worn patina...is perfect outside my tiny kitchen....one more special piece that makes this apartment feel like home! Hope everyone is well and happy....xoxo Chrissy

A Vintage Cupboard & 27 Stairs....

             Morning.....oh I am so excited to show you what I found on Saturday.....ready???

               Isn't it lovely...I have been looking for the "perfect" piece for the dining room since I moved in.....

                        and there it was....just waiting to be rescued and given a new home..

                      perfect patina...chipped, worn & peeling in all the right places.

              Not a thing I would change about it.....well...except maybe the part where Trish and I had to carry it up 27 stairs.....

                oh but it was worth it...I just love it!!!   Thanks for coming by...

Where Conversation Flows.......

                                    I love the patina of my harvest table....so well worn & rough around the edges...

                           softened only by its pale grey legs...

 

           an urn filled with savory smells oh so good...

                 tiny wonders on an old shelf just seem to fit into place.....

                             its not a grand or fancy room....

                            but still I think there will be happy times around this table....

                            bathed in sunlight...its just waiting for a crowd to please...have a happy day my friends....Talk soon,Chrissy x0

Embracing Imperfection.....

                        While it is not my dream kitchen....I am learning to love it...flaws and all!

                          Its not very big...but its nice and bright....

                               it even has a cozy little nook...

                                   lots of counter space....

                                 enough room for lots of little French touches....

                              yes my little kitchen is winning me over...

                         partly because of the view ...how can I complain when I look out and see a beautiful church next to me...

                   a wonderful spot to grow herbs...just enough sunshine!

Room by room..Layer by layer..

                            Its been almost a month now since I moved into "The Chantilly"....

                       I am feeling quite good about living here....

                          still of course changing things around on a near daily basis...

                               getting used to the light and the mood of the rooms if you will...

                              adding bits here and there....

                             old favorites along with some new treasures....
