Our French / Industrial / On A Budget Living Room......

Well...it isn't fussy or fancy...and it may not wow you...but for us its perfect!
Gone are the over stuffed  pieces that made this room look dark and dreary...

we sold each and every one of them..

now we have  a living room that we can all enjoy....where nothing is too special or too precious ...

a room to sit and read in..or to curl up and watch a movie (yes there is a t.v. under my french chair picture)...
after all it is a "living room" and it will be put to good use I can assure you!  John made the bench ...the table and the shelf....I think they are just what the room needed to give it that sort of rustic edge.  I am so glad you came  by to see it....now I am going to sit and flip through some decor magazines and books to get some Christmas ideas ...can you believe it is November already?!  xoxo

  2. I recently discovered your blog and really love it. I love your style most of all. Your living room looks like a nice cozy room to sit back and relax. One of my favorite rooms in your house is the sunroom and kitchen. I've really enjoyed looking at all of your rooms!

  3. Wow Chrissy, quite a change, and it looks wonderful! John did a great job, I love the table and the bench! I think it looks incredible!
Our living room is for living, we live in it, I'm not one to put up a "vignette" for the soul sake of decor, anything sitting on my tables are things I use, we love, and that remind us of special times. So I get what you're saying. This is a wonderful post, as always, my visit to your blog has been a pleasure, xoxo tami

  5. It's Perfect!!! I love the rustic look with a mix of woods and darker colors. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one out there that doesn't have white slipcovered furniture.

    Enjoy your new room:-)

  7. No, I can't. Usually I have a list of ideas in my head for gifts I want to get people, this year...I can't even make myself think about Christmas yet.

I love your room. You know how different it is from my style, but I love how comfortable and uncluttered it is. Beautiful!

  12. Adore it! Inquiring minds need to know.... Where did you find you gray love seats? How did you put the tv under the fame? How did you hand the letters next to the tv/frame?
