Not all who wander are lost....

Good morning....no you did not go to the wrong blog....but you won't find any decor in this post......the photo above is our Meg and my John.....the one below is Meg(third from the left) and some of her friends..the Meg we all know and love, the fun loving, silly beautiful girl.....who has another side to her..a serious side....filled with compassion and hope and a nature so caring its hard to believe she is only 19...its this side of her that is taking her on a journey....back to Haiti....
For the second time in her life she will go without the luxury of many things...good food, showers, clean clothes....her family near her....but next month Meg leaves for Haiti to do whatever she is asked,to help in anyway she can.....in a home for children that have nothing but the love of people who like Meg , would stay forever if they could...
her heart is in Haiti...she talks of little else these days...
I am happy for her....I am proud of her and I am worried about her too...
but I also know there is no stopping her.....she has an old soul and a huge heart......and I must remind myself..."Not all who wander are lost"......and she will wander that I know!!!!!  Thanks for taking the time to read this post....Chrissy

  1. Your daughter is absolutely beautiful and although I am sure you must be "just a bit" worried I am sure you are also so proud of what a wonderful and caring young lady she has grown up and become! Such a lovely post and you and your husband obviously did a great job as parents :)

  9. She has a beautiful heart. I understand your worry, as a mother that is what we do, but am thankful you are letting her go. While in college studying Nutrition I found myself drawn to third world articles...my heart was soon consumed with Africa. I wanted to go and live there and in some small way use my education to help Mothers and children. My parents were not supportive. I signed up for the Peace Corps anyway and my husband and I were stationed to go in our first year of marriage. But four months prior to leaving I found out I was pregnant and so we did not get to go. My heart remained in Africa for 12 more years...I know how she feels when she says Haiti is where her heart is. It is there for a reason. I will keep her in my prayers. Bless your family. ox

  12. It is so hard to let them follow their dreams and yet we raise them to do just that! I struggle enough with mine just being so far away...and I would struggle more if she were out of the country...BUT, I do know that there is nothing better than watching them spread their wings.

She is beautiful, obviously on the inside as well. Please tell her that I'm in awe of her kind heart.

  16. How proud you must be to have raised a caring young woman in today's times. She is beautiful.

Our daughter was like your daughter at her age. We encouraged to get her degree before pursuing her heart. She graduated and the following September became a missionary. Eight years later she is still serving the LORD. Why do I tell you this? To say that the best wandering a young woman can do is when she is being the hands and feet of CHRIST. There is no better thing in life that one can do than living that life that you and only you were made to live. How could she help herself after looking at those beautiful faces.

    Blessings,
    Shelley

  22. Your daughter is beautiful! Inside and out! I have a 20 year old who is much the same way. My little girl one day and this mature "where did you come from" young woman the next. She knows her heart, her goals in life and she runs at them head on. I can only be proud and thankful for that. I know you are proud of your daughter too and I am praying for her safety while she is away from you.
