The Garden Bench....












An old garden bench brings new life to the dining room....













so does an antique ironing board turned into a shelf.....it was in our basement....


















lots of soft french pillows and some re-arranging of furniture .....and in three hours I once again love my dining room....



















without spending a cent!! Thanks for coming to see my latest attempt at keeping this old house fresh,your an amazing lot of ladies!!! x0x0

  9. You've done it again, Chrissy... just lovely!! I NEED to find me a great bench. I've been seeing them a lot lately in Blogland dining rooms... LOVE it!!
    Love the ironing board turned shelf, too! I have a vintage wooden ironing board, too. It's green right now. I've been wanting to paint it white and use it as a display table... as is. Not sure how it will look... we'll see. :)

    Your comment on my blog cracked me up!! I am actually working on getting some more JDL pillow slips and things {keep your fingers crossed}...my BIL is going to Belgium in a few weeks and I am trying to coordinate having JDL ship me a small order to his hotel and have him bring it back to me!

  16. I love it! As to your question about color at my house...I'd say it is the same reason I love all the white, shabby chic at your house. I think that there are styles that we love, that maybe we couldn't live with. They make us feel good, but they don't really suit who we are. I love all your peaceful white. I find it interesting and calming. But, I need pops of color around me. I'll wear all black and add a red scarf! You need the peace of the white, but a visit to the more colorful may also make you smile!

    With blogging we can enjoy it all!
